Distinctions

H.I.S. Home is Christ-centered and serious about stewardship of the children, and God's funds. Our annual overhead rate is kept around 9%. Our founding missionaries - Hal & Chris Nungester are the only non-Haitian operational staff for 70 children. Hal teaches at a local Christian school so that the ministry only pays one small non-Haitian salary.

We have a staff structure that employs 35 Haitians - providing an income for their families and at times their extended family, requiring excellence from them in the care of our children, and holding training to provide certificated staff for other orphanages.
